Whirled Art has provided affordable, creative studio and desk spaces in South East London since 2001, building a home for makers across disciplines and career stages.
What we do
We exist to keep space for art. Our studios are practical, fairly priced, and community-minded — so painters, sculptors, designers, photographers, filmmakers and creative start-ups can do their best work without the premium price tag.

Our story
Whirled Art began in interlinked railway arches at Loughborough Junction, creating a lively, shared hub for artists. In 2010 we expanded by transforming a disused Victorian warehouse into Forest Hill Studios — growing both our footprint and our community.
Today Whirled Art supports a large and diverse group of creatives across multiple South East London locations, including Forest Hill and Lower Sydenham (Bell Green). Select sites have hosted complementary facilities over the years — including an in-house cinema and photographic studio — reflecting our long-running commitment to cross-disciplinary creativity.
From early-career artists to established practitioners, more than a hundred creators have called Whirled Art home — drawn by our accessible pricing, practical spaces, and supportive culture.
